Bobcat Tennis Celebration

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams will finally get their fall seasons underway with the GC Fall Championships Sept. 22-23 at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats had two tournaments washed out by Hurricane Irma earlier this month.

Georgia College will welcome players from Lander University and Middle Georgia State University to do battle in bracketed singles and doubles play.

Singles action is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow. The first Bobcats to take to the court will be senior Emma Niemi (Cumming) and junior Valeria Lopez (Galicia, Spain) on the women’s side, as well as Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in men’s action.

The men’s top seed is Georgia College’s Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostella, Spain), while the women’s top rank goes to Bobcat senior Jena Kelly (Lawrenceville).

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
