MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Wesley Wommack (Monroe) of the No. 1 Georgia College Baseball team (43-10) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the Week ending May 13.
Wommack won Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament MVP honors this week, getting multi-hit games in three of the four and going 9-for-18 (.500) for the tournament. He added a home run, a double, seven RBIs and four runs scored. His best game was the first, going 4-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs against Lander University.
The No. 2-seed Bobcats begin the NCAA Southeast Regional Thursday, May 17 at 3 p.m. against No. 7-seed Lincoln Memorial University.
