Former Bobcat GA Coach Named Assistant at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA – After finishing up a two-year stint as Graduate Assistant Coach for Georgia College Men's Basketball, Zach Altany has been announced as he newest assistant coach for Oglethorpe University's Men's Basketball program.

"I am happy for Zach," said Bobcat Men's Basketball Head Coach Mark Gainous. "I believe he is a great fit for Coach (Philip) Ponder and Oglethorpe University. For the past two years, Zach worked extremely hard for the men's basketball program. He was instrumental in our recruiting efforts and individual player development. I believe he will do great things at Oglethorpe."

The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels compete in the NCAA Division III in the Southern Athletic Association.

Altany helped guide the Bobcats to a pair of winning seasons, all while completing his Master's in Health and Human Performance from Georgia College.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
