Bobcat Men’s Basketball Releases 2017-18 Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team and head coach Mark Gainous released the 2017-18 schedule Friday, featuring 14 home dates. The Bobcats are fresh off a 15-13 campaign last season.

The season starts with the Bobcat Crossover Classic, as Georgia College will host three other teams for four total games over two days. The classic also features the lone nationally-ranked team on the GC Men's Hoops schedule, as the Bobcats will start the season against No. 8 Queens University Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The Bobcats close the two days against Emmanuel College Nov. 11.

Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action begins on the road this season, as the Bobcats get conference play started at Lander University Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The first home conference bout is Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m., hosting Augusta University.

2016-17 PBC Tournament Champion UNC Pembroke comes to the Centennial Center Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Senior Day is slotted for Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m., while Georgia College's annual Homecoming contest is Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. against the University of North Georgia.

The Bobcats went 15-13 in 2016-17, and return their top-five scorers from last season, led by junior Isaac Thomas (Trion) at 10.7 points per contest. Nearly averaging a double-double at 8.1 rebounds per game, Thomas was the 2015-16 PBC Co-Freshman of the Year.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
