GC Men's Basketball Gets Back on Track in Win Over Ga. Southwestern, 73-60

AMERICUS, Ga. - Georgia College Men’s Basketball (12-8, 7-7 PBC) got back to their winning ways taking down Georgia Southwestern (2-18, 0-14 PBC) 73-60 on the road Wednesday night in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action.

After dropping their last two away contests, the Bobcats got a much-needed victory away from the Centennial Center. Georgia College jumped out to a 13-point lead after a defensive first half battle, leading 29-16 at the break. The second half was a much different story, as each team scored 44 points in the final 20 minutes.

Jordan Thomas (Conyers) once again led the Bobcats in scoring, finishing the game with 27 points. He added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Senior forward Isaac Thomas (Trion) put up another double-double, recording 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, six of which came on the offensive glass. Thomas’ work on the glass helped Georgia College to 16 second chance points.

Chapin Rierson (Calhoun) was also in double figures in scoring for the Bobcats. Rierson came just one rebound short of a double-double, tallying 13 points and nine rebounds.

Georgia College out-muscled the Hurricanes inside, winning the rebounding battle 40-27, and getting 18 more points in the paint than their PBC-foe.

The Bobcats have one more road came before returning to the Centennial Center. They’ll take on UNC Pembroke Feb. 9 at 3:30 p.m.
