MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Becca Meade (Winder) of the Georgia College Softball team has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week. The honor was granted to her based on her performance during the week ending Feb. 11.
Meade assisted in conquering Albany State University at the beginning of the week with her first shutout of her Bobcat career, resulting in a five-inning run-shortened game. Then she threw the full seven against Newberry College, striking out five and allowing just one run resulting in a Bobcat victory. Meade ended the week with a total of two complete-game victories while throwing 12 total innings, surrendering just one run on 10 hits and three walks. She also fanned nine while posting a 0.58 ERA for the week.
The Bobcats take on North Greenville University at the Peeler Complex Thursday Feb. 15 at 4 p.m.
