MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Valeria Lopez (Galicia, Spain) of the Georgia College Women's Tennis team (5-2, 2-0 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending March 10.
Lopez went 4-0 for the week, powering GC to a pair of victories. Against Augusta University, she teamed with Emma Fleming (Suwanee) for a win in first doubles, then surrendered just one game to Ana Faria in second singles, 6-1, 6-0. She and Fleming also beat Lander's top doubles squad, then Lopez shut out Isabella Schulz in the second slot.
The Bobcats are back in action today, March 12 at 3:30 p.m. playing host to Concord University.
