MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - An early lead from Flagler College (3-4, 1-3 PBC) led to Georgia College's (3-5, 0-1 PBC) first loss of conference play.

The Bobcats began the game in a hole after the Saints had a two-run inning right out of the gates. The Bobcats got a run of their own in the bottom of the first, but Flagler doubled their performance the following inning after four Saints scored. A home run in the third inning from Flagler stretched their lead to six. Four scoreless innings passed and the Saints snagged a final run in the top ninth before a double play by the Bobcats prevented any more chances to score. A double from designated hitter Tanner Giesel (Naperville, Illinois) put two Bobcats across the plate, but the team's comeback was short-lived and the Saints took the first game of the weekend, 8-4.

Senior designated hitter Giesel led Georgia College in RBIs with the two he earned in the final inning and third baseman Garrett Green (Bogart) left with one of his own. Brandon Purcell (Glennville) was the only Bobcat to record a stolen base in the contest

Conner Alford (Macon,), starting pitcher for the contest, was marked with the loss due to Flagler's early lead. Reliever Bradley Spinner (Roswell) had an impressive night; he kept the Saints scoreless during all five innings he stood atop the mound. Spinner only gave up one hit during his time in the game, and only walked a single batter.

The Bobcats hope to turn the tables of the three-game series when they take on the Saints tomorrow, Feb. 20, beginning at 3 p.m.
