#8 Georgia College Golf to Host Bobcat Invitational

EATONTON, Ga. - Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee will once again serve as the backdrop for this year's Bobcat Invitational, as the No. 8 Georgia College & State University golf team will host the annual 18-team three-round tournament from March 23-24. Teams will play two rounds Monday and finish up with the final round Tuesday.

The tournament has quickly become a who's who of top Division II golf programs in the southeast, as 12 of the teams are listed in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America/Nike Golf Division II Top 25. The tournament features the top four teams on the list, and eight of the top-10.

Five of the top 10 teams in the most recent GolfStat Head-to-Head Rankings will take to the links in Eatonton. The GolfStat rankings are a much more quantitative measure of success on the golf course, taking into effect stroke averages and number of teams beaten in tournaments.

Along with No. 8 GCSU, No. 1 USC Aiken, No. 2 Columbus State University, No. 3 Florida Southern College and No. 4 Lander University will tee it up Monday morning. Rounding out the field's top-10 teams are No. 6 Nova Southeastern University, No. 9 University of North Alabama and No. 10 Clayton State University.
