Georgia College Men’s Basketball Signs Meadowcreek’s Robinson

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the signing of Aaron Robinson Thursday.

Robinson comes to Milledgeville from Lawrenceville, Ga. where he played at Meadowcreek High School under head coach Billy Davis.

This past season, Robinson was the catalyst for the Mustangs’ 20-4 record including a 14-1 mark in region play (8-AAAAA). A 5-foot-9 point guard, Aaron averaged 7.8 assists per game which led Gwinnett County.

“Aaron is an extremely quick, pass-first point guard who handles and distributes the ball well.  We believe he can harass opposing ball handlers with his full court pressure,” said Sellers. “Aaron excels in the open court. We are thrilled that he has chosen to attend our University and play in our program.”

The Bobcats are fresh off a 22-6 season in 2009-10, winning the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) West Division title. Georgia College has now made back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999-2000 and picked up its fourth 20-win season in the past five years.  The Bobcats were ranked as high as No. 14 in the NABC National Rankings. Georgia College loses five Seniors including Graham Martin who was named first team all-conference and Ty Rowland who was a third team all-conference selection.
