AMERICUS, Ga. – The Georgia College's Men's Basketball team (15-11, 9-8 PBC) showed even more playoff potential in Americus Wednesday night when the Bobcats diffused the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes (7-17, 5-12 PBC), 63-53. Isaac Thomas' (Trion) second consecutive double-double combined with double-digit scores from two other Bobcats to give the Bobcats another double-digit conference victory.

The match began tight. Having to adjust to roster changes late in the season, the Bobcats started a new line of players against the Canes. The two Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools volleyed for the lead the first 13 minutes of game time before the Bobcats used two three-pointers to gain a momentum from which Georgia Southwestern would not recover. Georgia College then made nine straight unanswered points to bring their lead to 14 at halftime.

Thomas ignited the second half momentum for the Bobcats with a shot past the arc to put the visitors up by 16. The Canes tried to nibble away at Georgia College's large lead but ultimately to no avail. Georgia Southwestern closed their deficit to four points with nine minutes left to play, but the Bobcats put up four points to distance themselves even more from their opponents. Ultimately, the Bobcats clinched their 15th win and a winning season, 63-53.

Austin Dukes (Lawrenceville) topped the team with 16 points, his new career-high. The Bobcats' starting point guard also had six rebounds and three steals.

Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) had another impressive night, netting 12 points and securing eight boards. This marks the freshman's fourth consecutive double-digit scoring game.

Thomas rounds out the top Bobcats with 10 points and 11 rebounds of his own, his seventh career double-double.

The Bobcats collectively had an impressive 19-of-27 completion rate from the free-throw line. Chaz Berry (Fayetteville) had the best foul shot numbers, draining seven of nine.

The Bobcats host Clayton State University Saturday for the last home game of the season. The PBC match-up will serve as one of this year's Homecoming games. The men's team will have a special tip time scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. The Bobcats finish up their regular season on the road at Lander University Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
