ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia College Tennis program sent two student-athletes to the Southern Intercollegiate Championships this weekend, hosted by the University of Georgia. Both Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) and Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) have had good showings in singles play.

Kumbier took on the Division I singles flight, facing Columbus State University's Zach Whaanga in the first round. Kumbier advanced on 6-3, 6-4 sets. In the round of 32, the Bobcat senior drew Pierre Mondtrieul of Barry University. That's where Kumbier's run would come to an end, as the Buccaneer topped the Bobcat 6-1, 6-2.

Moller is still alive in the Division II flight after two wins today. In the first round, he beat Chris Mikrovas of East Tennessee State University 6-2, 7-5. Moller followed that up with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Stetson University's Dennis Moses. Moller's tournament continues tomorrow in the round of 16 against Daniel Groom of UNC Wilmington.

The Bobcat duo has also entered the doubles fray and will face Ayed Zatar and Valentino Caratini of Georgia Gwinnett College tomorrow.
