FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 22 Georgia College Men's Tennis team (11-7) is preparing to compete in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament hosted by Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina April 19-21.
Georgia College will be the No. 6-seed in the tournament after finishing the season with a 4-5 league mark.
Junior Robin Möller (Hamburg, Germany) leads the Bobcats in singles wins with an 8-1 PBC and 15-2 overall record for the season. He is ranked No. 12 in the nation.
The pairing of Möller and Matt Rogel (Sautron, France) dominated in doubles matches for the Bobcats with an overall 16-2 mark and PBC record of 7-2 throughout the season. Rogel and Möller are the No. 2 doubles team in the country.
In the last season's tournament, Georgia College was defeated by eventual champion Columbus State University in the Semifinal round 5-1.
No. 6-seed Georgia College will be matched up against No. 3-seed Flagler College in the Quarterfinal round beginning at 9 a.m. at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
With a win, the Bobcats would advance to the semifinals Saturday at 9 a.m. against the winner of the No. 2-seed USC Aiken and No. 7-seed Augusta University.
