NEW ORLEANS, La. – With just two days before the season gets underway for Georgia College Cross Country, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its official preseason rankings for each region of Division II. The Bobcat men kick off the 2018 season ranked eighth in the Southeast Region after a ninth-place finish in 2017.

Only two other Peach Belt teams rank higher than the Bobcats in the latest poll, which include Augusta University (third) and Columbus State University (seventh). Queens University earns the first place ranking, just ahead of three-time defending regional champions, University of Mount Olive.

The Bobcats return to action with their first meet of the 2018 season the VSU Border Clash, in Valdosta Friday, Aug. 31.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
