Bobcat Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at VSU Border Clash

VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Bobcat Men's Cross Country team took four place overall at the annual VSU Border Clash, hosted by Valdosta State University at Freedom Park in Valdosta. Of the 79-runner field, Georgia College had four runners finish within the top-25 on the 7.25K course.

Sophomore Brennan Silliman (Douglasville) continued the amazing start to his young Bobcat career, leading the individual finishes for Georgia College and placing third out of the entire pack with a time of 23:58.  

The talented freshman Lance Underwood (Blairsville) came racing in behind him, cracking the top-20 in his first ever race in green and blue with an 18th place finish in 25:17. Speedy junior Shawn Olmstead (Buford) claimed the 20th spot with a time of 25:26.

Two spots behind Olmstead in 22nd, Wilson Moore (Douglasville) rounded out the top-25 finishes for the Bobcats. Moore sped through the course at an impressive 25:30, helping to clinch the top-5 team finish for Georgia College.

The Bobcat men tallied 89 points, just nine away from a third-place podium finish. The squad will be back in action Sept. 15 as they travel to Augusta to race at the Jaguar Invitational, hosted by Augusta University. Race time is set for 8:10 a.m.
