NEW ORLEANS, La.-With Georgia College Cross Country's season already underway, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its official preseason rankings for each region of Division II. The Bobcat men kick off the 2019 season ranked eighth in the Southeast Region after a fourth-place finish in last year's Peach Belt Conference race.

Only three other Peach Belt teams rank higher than the Bobcats in the latest poll, which include Augusta University (third), UNC Pembroke (fourth), and Flagler  College (seventh). The defending regional champs, Queens University, earns the first place ranking, just above their strong competitor, University of Mount Olive.

The Bobcats will hit the road for their second meet of the 2019 season at the Mountain Dew Invitational, in Gainesville, Florida, Sept.14.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
