Bobcat Softball Ninth in NCAA Region Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Georgia College (34-17) jumps into the NCAA Southeast Rankings this week, coming in at No. 9 on the list, released Wednesday.

The Bobcats are the fourth Peach Belt Conference (PBC) team ranked in the poll. The University of North Georgia is tops in the region. Young Harris College follows in fifth. Columbus State University comes in one slot ahead of the Bobcats.

The NCAA poll is used to determine the five at-large bids for the NCAA Southeast Regional sites starting May 9. The winners of the three championship tournaments in the PBC, South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas receive automatic bids. The remaining five spots are determined by the final version of this poll.

The No. 5-seed Bobcats are in action Friday, May 3 at 6:30 a.m., taking on No. 4-seed Flagler College in the PBC Quarterfinals in Dahlonega.
