Bobcat Softball Releases 2020 Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball program and head coach Jamie Grodecki released their 50-game regular season 2020 GC Softball schedule on Monday.

Action starts at home as the Bobcats host the GC Kickoff Classic at the Peeler Complex, facing Shorter University in a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 1 and the University of Montevallo in a doubleheader the following day.

The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) portion of the schedule is late in the season, with the Bobcats playing a home doubleheader against Georgia Southwestern State University in their conference opener on March 13.

The Bobcats have two separate doubleheaders against conference champions on the schedule. First, they face the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Tournament Champ Anderson University Sunday, Feb. 16. Later in the season, they travel to Dahlonega to face the PBC Regular-Season and PBC Tournament Champ the University North Georgia Wednesday, March 18.

GC Softball also squares off with five teams that played in the NCAA Tournament in 2019, including Coker University, Young Harris College, Carson-Newman University, Wingate University and Anderson. YHC advanced all the way to the Division II World Series.

In addition to the GC Kickoff Classic, the Bobcats will also host a Bobcat Classic Feb. 8-9, and travel to the YHC Tournament March 7-8.

The PBC Tournament is set for May 2-3 in Greenwood, South Carolina, hosted by Lander University.

The Bobcats went 34-18 a season ago, and return All-Southeast Region catcher Haley Howell (Rochelle), two-time PBC Freshman of the Week Ariel Edenfield (Dublin) as well as another PBC Freshman of the Week in Darby Pinkard (Acworth).
