Bobcats Lose 3-0 at #12 Columbus State

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Two second-half goals sent the Georgia College soccer team (4-5, 1-3 PBC) to a 3-0 loss Wednesday night at No. 12 Columbus State University (8-1, 2-1 PBC).

Chelsea Person got the scoring started on a one-timer from Kansas Bayley with just 6:54 remaining in the first half.

The momentum continued through the break, as the Cougars picked up a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the second frame. Shelby Rolling and Stephanie Lowery each netted one, making the match 3-0 early in the second half.

Both teams split time in net, as Mary Mancin picked up the win for CSU, tallying three saves over 69:24. GC sophomore Annie Stephens (Fayetteville, Ga.) made three stops among six tries, tabbed with the loss in 69:22 of work.

CSU out-shot the Bobcats 16-11, as Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Offensive Player of the Week Ashley Veilleux (Monroe, Ga.) and senior Jamie Colcord (Marietta, Ga.) led the way with three each for GC.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m., hosting Clayton State University.
