TIGERVILLE, S.C. – An early second-half goal was the only scoring in Wednesday's non-conference contest, a 1-0 loss for Georgia College Soccer (8-2-1) at North Greenville University (6-4).
NGU scored just over five minutes into the second half, Emma Shearer found paydirt on her only shot attempt of the contest, scoring her second goal of the season.
The Bobcats were shut out for the first time this season, but it wasn't for a lack of effort, as Georgia College out-shot the Crusaders 26-5. Senior Amanda Bartholomew (Peachtree City, Georgia) led the way with eight shots, including three on target.
Senior goalkeeper Ashlee Graham (Decatur, Georgia) made two saves in three tries in the loss.
The loss evens the all-time series with North Greenville at 1-1, as the teams first met in the first season of Bobcat Women's Soccer in 2004.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m., playing host to Flagler College.
