MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women's volleyball team (7-7, 2-5 PBC) hosted fellow Peach Belt Conference (PBC) member UNC Pembroke (8-11, 0-6 PBC) Friday, Oct. 3. The Bobcats' strong momentum pushed them to a 3-1 victory.

"This was a great win for us tonight," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "We have been working really hard in practice and it's starting to pay off."

The Bobcats re-entered the Centennial Center coming off their first conference win of the season Tuesday against Columbus State University. The first frame set the stage for a high intensity match. The Braves topped the 'Cats with extra points 26-24. Georgia College then stopped UNCP in their tracks, winning the next three sets 25-22, 25-20, and 26-24.

Freshman Bailey Freeman (Hillsborough, North Carolina) had a breakout performance on the front row. She tallied a total of 11 kills and aided in half of the Bobcat's blocks with five. Teammate Maggie Roper (Buford) nabbed another double-double with 17 kills and 17 digs. Roper matched for the team high as Ella Anastasiades (Atlanta) put up 17 digs of her own. Lindsey Holmes (Norcross) shared the defensive responsibility with 12 digs. Having another consistent night, Mollie Michel (Peachtree City) added 43 assists for a total of 422 on the season.

Tonight's match set a record for the most wins so far in the young program with seven. With 13 matches left, the Bobcats have eclipsed last year's full-season stance at the halfway mark.

The Bobcats will be back in the Centennial Center tomorrow, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. to take on Francis Marion University.
