  • Bobcat Athletics Puts 134 Student-Athletes on PBC Presidential Honor Roll

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 134 Georgia College student-athletes making the list, coming just two shy of the school-best 136 set last year. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2016-17 academic year.

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Department of Athletics posted a 3.25 GPA for the 2016-17 academic year, eclipsing the 3.2-mark for the third-straight year. The Bobcat Women’s Cross Country team took team GPA honors in the Bobcat Athletic Department in one of the tightest races in recent memory.

The Bobcats traveled to South Carolina for the first match of a full road weekend to play the PBC’s top-ranked USC Aiken Pacers (26-3, 15-2 PBC). The Bobcats fell in four, 3-1.

The Bobcats took the first two by identical 25-20 scores, then dropped the third 25-14 before rallying for a 25-21 clincher.

AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 2016 Georgia College Volleyball team (13-7, 4-4 PBC) is now officially the winningest squad in Bobcat history after defeating the previous Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader Flagler College (11-6, 7-2 PBC) in a come-from-behind five-set win on the road Monday night. The match was previously scheduled for earlier in the season but postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (12-7) nabbed a pair of non-conference victories on the road Saturday, taking down King University (9-12) in five sets before sweeping host Pfeiffer University (0-19). The victories match last season’s win total for the Bobcats, despite having 11 matches left on the schedule this year.
