MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore Taylor Svehla (Cumming) of the Georgia College Volleyball team (17-13) was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending Nov. 13.
Svehla had her best match in the three-set loss against Lander University Saturday when she notched 15 kills against the Bearcats. With only one error in four sets, the sophomore had her best percentage against USC Aiken Friday. Her 12 kills gave her a .458 average for the afternoon. Three out of the four matches from the week, Svehla had double-digit kills. She also helped the Bobcats defensively with five blocks against the Pacers and a grand total of 12 blocks for the week.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. when GC Athletics hosts the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament for the first time in school history. Georgia College is set to square off with USC Aiken in the first round.
