Bobcat Volleyball Hangs on to #9 Slot in Region

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – As Georgia College Volleyball (17-13) continues through the top year in the young program's history, the NCAA released another round of the Division II Region Rankings, with the Bobcats holding on to the No. 9 slot in the southeast.

There are seven teams in the region's top-10 from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), led by region-leader USC Aiken. Flagler College is No. 3, Armstrong State University No. 4, Lander University No. 6, Francis Marion University No. 8 and Augusta University No. 10.

The Bobcats hang onto the top region rank in school history heading into hosting the PBC Tournament at the Centennial Center this weekend. The Bobcats have appeared on all three of the NCAA Southeast Region rankings this season.

The final version of this poll is used to determine the at-large bids to the NCAA Southeast Regional starting Dec. 1. The region hands out three automatic bids to the winners of championship tournaments in the PBC, South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas. The remaining five slots are determined by this poll.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. when GC Athletics hosts the PBC Tournament for the first time in school history. Georgia College is set to square off with USC Aiken in the first round.
