CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (9-3) traveled to the University of West Georgia (2-15) Tuesday night, picking up a win in straight sets. The Bobcats have now won six straight sets against the Wolves.

It took extra points to get the first set win, 27-25, but it got easier from there. Georgia College's best set was the second at 25-18, followed by a 25-22 clincher.

"Tonight was a good road test," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "West Georgia was a strong blocking team and we had to find ways around them. Kayla (Brockway) ran a good offense, and we were able to put the ball away. I'm proud of how the team stuck together to close out the win."

Junior Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) led all attackers with 14 kills on the night, hitting .222 and helping the defense as well with 10 digs. It was Powers's fifth double-double this season. Classmate Taylor Svehla (Cumming) was busy up front as well, tallying 11 kills and two total blocks.

Junior Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) had another great night with 36 assists, while senior Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah) led three with double-digit digs. Ewaldsen pulled up 13, freshman Libby Bochniak (Marietta) had 12 and Powers added her 10.

GC Volleyball has won the last nine sets in non-conference action.

The Bobcats return to the court Friday, Oct. 13 for more non-conference play in a South Atlantic Conference (SAC)/Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Crossover at Lander University. Georgia College takes on Lincoln Memorial University and Carson-Newman College Friday.
