GREENWOOD, S.C.  – The Georgia College Volleyball Team (10-4, 3-2 PBC) began the SAC/PBC Crossover with a tough loss to the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters (8-8, 4-7 SAC) in straight sets, but managed to right the ship next match defeating the Carson-Newman University Eagles in their second match, 3-0.

The Bobcats were unable to find their rhythm against the Railsplitters in match one, losing in straight sets to start their Friday afternoon.  Lincoln Memorial played very clean volleyball, only giving away 11 points throughout the match, leading them to the early afternoon victory.

Junior Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) was steady for Georgia College, recording a team-high 10 digs and 26 assists. Junior Ebony Powers (Jacksonville, Florida) also had a solid game for the Bobcats, nailing 11 kills while also tallying four assists.

It was a different story for Georgia College in match number two against Carson-Newman.  The Bobcats completely turned it around with a straight set victory of their own, defeating the Eagles in dominant fashion.  Georgia College was on fire in sets one and three, holding the Eagles to just 12 points in each set.

Junior Taylor Svehla (Cumming, Georgia) led the Georgia College offense with 14 kills, posting a kill percentage of .478.  Powers kept her superior play rolling in match two, tallying eight kills along with a team-high 12 digs.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow at the PBC/SAC crossover, taking on Tusculum College and Mars Hill University Saturday, October 14 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
