PEMBROKE, N.C. - Georgia College Volleyball (9-7, 2-2 PBC) took down Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opponent UNC Pembroke (3-11, 0-2 PBC) in straight sets Saturday behind a strong performance from sophomore Libby Bochniak (Marietta).
The Bobcats started strong, winning the first set easily 25-18, and had little trouble in a 25-19 win in the second set. The match tightened up in the third set, but the Bobcats handled business 25-22 to close out the sweep.
Bochniak lead the way for the Bobcats, tallying 13 kills and hitting an efficient .314 from the right side. The sophomore outside hitter added 11 digs for a double-double.
With the Bobcats out front in the match, freshman Lauren Talele (Woodstock) took over setting duties in the third set, picking up a double double of her own with 13 assists and 10 digs.
Sophomore Jordyn Moellering (Cumming) locked down the back row adding 16 digs during the match.
The Bobcats continue PBC play against rival USC Aiken Friday, Oct. 5 at the Centennial Center.
