VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball team (12-9) swept the final three sets to take a road match at Valdosta State University (13-15) Thursday.
The Bobcats dropped a slim 25-23 first set, then rebounded with a 27-25 in the second. After another tight 25-23 win in the third, the fourth was more comfortable, going 25-12 in the Bobcats' favor.
Three attackers got into double-digit kills, led by 17 from sophomore Libby Bochniak (Marietta). Senior Taylor Svehla (Cumming) was one behind with 16, and junior Emily Crowell (Horseheads, New York) added 10.
Senior setter Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) posted 48 assists with 12 digs, the seventh time this season she has eclipsed 40 in a match. Joining her with a double-double was Bochniak, adding 10 digs.
In tonight's action, Bochniak moved past Miller Howard (2016) into seventh in school history with 584 career digs. Also, Svehla is now ninth in career kills in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), passing Alexzandra Reed from Francis Marion University.
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m., playing host to UNC Pembroke for Dig Pink Night.
