Roeck Takes Her Second Athlete of the Week Award

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman Taylor Roeck (Cumming, Ga.) of the Georgia College women’s cross country team has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21.

This is Roeck’s second time being named Bobcat Athlete of the Week during the 2012 season, and the third overall award for women’s cross country.

The freshman ran the 6K Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship race in 23:34 Saturday, Oct. 20. The finish was the second fastest time in GC history. Roeck finished 15th of 91 runners at the University of Montevallo hosted event and helped the team to a fifth place finish out of 11 teams.

Roeck and the rest of the women’s cross country team will next be in action Nov. 3 as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship.
