MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – With Valedictorian honors already under her belt, Georgia College Cross Country senior Sarah Wilder (Tifton) was chosen as a Google Cloud/College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team selection.
Wilder makes her first career appearance on the District 3 team, a 12-member squad that includes student-athletes from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and Conference Carolinas (CC). The list includes student-athletes from cross country and track and field.
She owns a 4.00 GPA in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. A three-time PBC All-Academic honoree, Wilder was named the PBC Elite-15 Award recipient this year, given to the student-athlete with the best GPA among those at the PBC Championships. She ran in five of the team's six races this year, her best finish being 31st at the VSU Border Clash.
Wilder will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, with an announcement due Wednesday, June 26.
This is the third such honor for GC Women's Cross Country all-time, with the other two belonging to Rachel Pasko in 2015 and 2016.
