NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its end-of-season academic awards, with four members of the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team earning a spot on the Division II All-Academic Individual list.
In order to qualify for the award, individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater and must have finished among the top-30 percent of total eligible runners at his regional championship and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship meet.
Junior Rachel Boulineau (Canton, Georgia) and junior Maddy Howe (Dacula, Georgia) received the honor for the first time in their collegiate careers while sophomore Tessa Allen (Atlanta, Georgia) and sophomore Sydney Brown (Canton, Georgia) made the list for their second consecutive season.
The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) was well represented in the All-Academic list, with Columbus State University and Flagler University also placing four players while the University of North Georgia had five represented.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
